Brittney Benton

Brittney Benton is a composer currently based in New Haven, CT.  The Las Vegas native was named the winner of the 2021 Bellevue Chamber Chorus’ “Emerging Composer Competition”, one of the winners of the 2022 Chicago a cappella’s “Her Voice Competition”, and a winner of the 2024 SOLI Chamber Ensemble’s “30x30x30 Project”. Brittney’s works have been performed by the Bellevue Chamber Chorus, ZOFO, the Beo String Quartet, the Lowell Chamber Orchestra, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, SOLI Chamber Ensemble and more. Her principal teachers include Jennifer Bellor, Viet Cuong, Aaron Jay Kernis, and Christopher Theofanidis.

Brittney holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition with a Minor in Music Technology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is attending the Yale School of Music for her Masters in Music Composition.  Her interest in composition also involves writing outside of the concert hall in the realm of video game music.
